Holes, rips and tears, or loose, rippled canvas are all common occurrences due to accidents, improper handling or storage. At Thorp Brothers, we masterfully handle all types of art restoration - simple surface cleaning, relining, and extensive in painting, the most challenging panel transfers, frame restoration & gilding or gold leafing.
No matter how severe the damage, our professional conservators at Thorp Brothers can properly restore objects of art or deteriorated paintings with worn or even ripped canvas, flaking pigment & discolored varnish. After carefully examining your painting, a complete evaluation of its condition & a cost estimate will be provided before any work is started. All estimates are based on time and material, not on the value of the piece. Complete photo and written documentation are provided on upon request.
At Thorp Brothers we offer several options to help determine the cost of restoring your piece.
The Estimate
This is an estimate only. Thorp Brothers will forward you a firm quotation after a final evaluation is completed.
Estimate Charges
Estimates and quotes completed in house at Thorp Brothers are no extra charge. However, estimates and quotes done on-site have a separate charge associated with them depending on the amount of time needed to go on site and inspect the pieces.
